Honing and Hot Honing

After we bore and inspect the cylinders we then send the block to the Honing Department. The head bolt are cleaned and inspected, the cylinders are chamfered and the bottom of the cylinders are relieved for hone clearance.

We have different finishes for different applications so be sure to tell us what its going in and which type of rings you will be using.

For serious racers we use torque plates and for the racers that really want the best, we offer Hot Honing. This is where we pump 220 degree water through the block the while its being honed. This means when your up to running temperature your cylinders are perfectly round. The best combustion seal possible!
